TenCate kondigt oprichting van Brazilië's SPIRIT thermoplastische composiet consortium aan
TenCate Advanced Composites (Nijverdal, Nederland), onderdeel van de Toray Group (Tokio, Japan), viert de oprichting van het São Paulo Initiative on Research on Innovative Thermoplastic Composites Solutions (SPIRIT) consortium in São José dos Campos, Brazilië.
Het SPIRIT consortium werd in 2017 opgericht als een gezamenlijk initatief tussen TenCate Advanced Composites en cruciale luchtvaartleveranciers en onderwijsinstituten in Brazilië, om te collaboreren en een regionale kennisbasis in thermoplastische composiettechnologie te ontwikkelen voor de volgende generatie vliegtuigen. Partners omvatten Embraer, Alltec, Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), Instituto de Aeronáutica e Espaço (IAE), São Paulo State University (UNESP) en het Institute for Technological Research of the State of São Paulo (IPT).
De bijeenkomst, gehost door het Holland Innovation Network en het Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), demonstreert verder een gedeelde visie tussen partners om een Brasiliaans centrum van excellentie voor thermoplastische composieten te bevorderen door de creatie van gezamenlijke R+D programma's en kennisdeelplatform, om de adoptie van thermoplastische composieten te stimuleren.
